Our Rescue Stories
For Rebecca and Andrew, it all started long before Iridescence Cares became a nonprofit. They’ve always believed that every animal deserves a chance to feel safe, loved, and seen. Since 2012, they’ve opened their hearts and home to countless rescues, helping over 36 animals find the care and comfort they deserved.
Some arrived scared or hurt, some were abandoned, and others just needed someone to believe in them. Each one became part of their story and a reminder of why compassion matters so much. Together, Rebecca and Andrew rescue, foster, and care for every animal, combining patience, dedication, and love to give each one the best chance at a happy life.
Today, that same spirit guides the future of Iridescence Cares, with a mission to rescue even more animals, support local fosters, and spread kindness through action.
Personal Rescue Stories
Pearl
Rescued from a shelter in Los Angeles, Pearl had been waiting for nearly a year and a half due to her autoimmune disease. Despite the challenges, she captured their hearts, and Rebecca and Andrew were thrilled to give this perfect girl a second chance at a happy life.
Gordie and Gus
Originally meant to be fosters, these cats became permanent family members. With Gus’s age and Gordie’s health issues, Rebecca and Andrew knew they could provide the care and love they deserved. After a year of some initial squabbles, they’re thriving—and life without them is unimaginable!

Junie’s Story
Junie has found her forever home in November 2025! Rescued alongside her sister Georgie from a local colony, Junie is now thriving and enjoying all the love and care she deserves.
This sweet, playful gal has settled in beautifully with her new family and is living her best life, full of cuddles, fun, and endless affection.
Jack & Charlie’s Story
Jack and Charlie have found their forever home in November 2025! These sweet, gentle brothers—rescued from a local colony—are now living the cozy, loving life they deserved.
These little showstoppers with striking long whiskers and big, innocent eyes are thriving in their new home, together, just as they wished.
Raven & Midnight’s Story
November 2025: Midnight and Raven have found their forever home! These bonded sisters are living their best lives together—Midnight, the confident play queen, and Raven, her sweet, affectionate sidekick.
At 6–7 months old, spayed, vaccinated, and perfectly litter trained, these girls were gentle, snuggly, and endlessly sweet—not just with people, but with each other. Now they always have each other’s company, cuddled up and thriving in their new home.
From playful cat tower antics to quiet snuggles, they’re the perfect duo—full of heart and love.
Rocky’s Story
Rocky has found his forever home as of November 2025! This 10-month-old sweetheart is full of affection and was ready to share his heart and life with someone who cares. All he ever wanted was a companion to keep him company—and now he’s finally got it!
Sunny's Story
Sunny came to Iridescence Cares at just 6 weeks old in August 2025 and has now found his forever home! This sweet little guy, who was recovering from a wound, is thriving and soaking up all the love and snuggles he deserves.
Jasper’s Story (Now Marlowe)
When Rebecca saw Jasper’s post on Facebook in August 2025, she knew he needed help. Thanks to a little networking and a lot of heart, he found his perfect match with a previous client of Iridescence Salon & Spa.
Now known as Marlowe, he’s thriving in a busy, happy home with three kids and two dogs, living his absolute best life surrounded by love and playtime. Another reminder that sometimes, the right connections make all the difference.
Poppie's Story
August 2025: Poppie has gone to her amazing furever home with a client of Iridescence Salon & Spa! We’re so excited to get updates and photos as she thrives in her new life.
Cleo's Story (Now Mochi)
July 2025: Miss Cleo, now Mochi, has found her furever home! She’s adjusting perfectly, even cuddling up next to her new brother kitty. Mochi is already obsessed with her new dad—apparently she trapped him for hours snuggling! Huge thanks to everyone who helped her along the way; we’re so happy she has an amazing family now!
Jackson & Cassidy's Story
Jackson and Cassidy have found their perfect furever home! This amazing pair—Jackson, 11, and Cassidy, 10—are thriving together with a loving family. Jackson’s diabetes is well-managed with his twice-daily insulin, and their new family is happily giving them all the love and care they deserve.
Bobby's Story (Now Cheese)
March 2025: It didn’t take long — Bobby (aka Cheese) has been adopted! He now has two sisters and will be spoiled endlessly. And the best part? We can visit him anytime!
He snuggled with his new mom all night last night, and we are so happy for this amazing ending for the sweetest boy EVER!
A Senior Gentleman’s Story
This super sweet older boy has officially found his forever home! Estimated to be around 10–12 years old and FIV positive, he didn’t need much maintenance—just a cozy lap and endless snuggles. Iridescence Cares ensured he received his neuter and full dental, and now he’s settling into a loving home where he’ll get all the attention he dreamed of. We’re so happy for this gentle soul and his amazing new beginning!
Nelson's Story
Nelson has officially found his permanent home!
This sweet 10-year-old husky mix came to Iridescence Cares after his mom had to move suddenly into a nursing home. He was such a loyal companion for five years, and the sudden change left him confused and spending long days alone. Thanks to the community sharing his story, Nelson’s gentle heart and easygoing personality won over an amazing family who welcomed him with open arms.
He’s now spending his days exactly how he deserves — loved, cared for, and never alone. We’re so grateful to everyone who helped this wonderful boy get his second chance.
Elenor/Ellie’s Story (Now Ruby)
Ruby was found running the streets of York City in April 2024 by one of the clients of Iridescence Salon & Spa — scared, but still full of sweetness. She found her forever home with the front desk manager of Iridescence, Danielle and her family.
Now Ruby spends her days surrounded by love, laughter, and four kids who homeschool — which means she’s rarely alone and always part of the fun. She’s also got a big yard to run and play in, giving her all the space she needs to let out her happy zoomies.
She’s settled right in, reminding us every day how second chances can lead to the happiest endings.
The Four Kitten's Story
These four little sweethearts came to Iridescence Cares in April 2024. Found together and full of curiosity and charm, they quickly stole hearts — and thanks to loving adopters, all four have now found their forever homes!
Cocoa Bean's Story
Cocoa Bean found her forever home in October 2023 with Monica, stylist at Iridescence Salon & Spa! This little lady has been such a joyful addition — patiently hanging out with the kids, tolerating the family pups Paisley and Teddy, and (mostly) behaving with older cat Puma. Now the household has a perfectly balanced set of two kids, two pups, and two cats!
She’s thriving and loved every single day!
